Reception - Peach: News items

Zoo animals, by Miss Caldwell

Date: 4th Jul 2019 @ 12:53pm

Today in Plum class we have been innovating our story maps of Billy's bucket. The children worked hard as a team to change aspects of the story to start to create our own version of Billy's bucket. They changed the animals from under the water animals to zoo animals. They have created a fantastic story map together. As the children were really enthusiastic about the zoo animals , Miss Caldwell showed them the live Edinburgh zoo cameras. The children have been watching the tigers and the penguins throughout the day. We are looking forward to watching the feeding time at Dublin Zoo on their cameras at 2:30pm.

We've had fun this week with our school beebots. The beebots are floor robots that introduce the children to computer programming. The children programme simple commands into the beebots, which will make it move in certain ways. Much fun and laughter was had in Peach class trying to get the beebot out of the maze!

Something strange is going on , by Mr Ellis

Date: 7th Jun 2018 @ 8:54am

Wow what a brilliant couple of days we have been having in Plum class the children have come back eager to learn lots and are excited about our new classroom.
Today we arrived to find baked beans all over one of our cupboards....Who could it have been? What has happened? We are not sure at all. After our discovery the children have become detectives and we are looking for clues as to what may have happened in our classroom - watch this space!

We have also planted some beans of our own today to see what happens. The children are taking this very seriously and have been seen to sing to their bean, read to them and check on them very regularly. I think Plum class has some very well loved beans. P.S there is a rumour that they might be magic!

Our visit to Stockley Farm , by Mr Ellis

Date: 7th Jun 2018 @ 8:54am

Well today's trip to Stockley was enjoyed by all! The weather was quite kind, and the animals very friendly. We learnt all about how to care for all the different animals, and even bottle fed some baby goats. There was a little time to play on the indoor play area, and lunch in the tearoom was very exciting! Many thanks to all staff at Stockley for the wonderful activities and to all of our parent helpers - we couldn't have managed the trip without you

Some parents were asking this morning about what their children should wear for our trip tomorrow. Please send your child in their school uniform (girls can wear dark coloured trousers or leggings instead of a skirt/dress if you prefer), a warm coat, and sensible footwear. Trainers or wellies will be fine if preferred to school shoes.

As you will see from the photographs, the children all looked brilliant in their costumes!

Dear Parents/Carers

Children are allowed to come to school dressed in their party clothes, but please do bear in mind that we are walking to church, so the children will need warm clothes, a coat, and sensible shoes. Please could they also bring their school uniform in a named bag, as we will need to get changed for the afternoon.
Many Thanks,
