SEND

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.” Proverbs 31:8-9 (NKJ)

What if we were all the same?

At Wharton CE Primary School we are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for disabled pupils, staff, and all those receiving services from the school regardless of gender, race and disability to ensure every child can flourish.

Local Offer: Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

All Cheshire West and Chester Local Authority (LA) maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and are supported by the LA to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their individual needs, make the best possible progress in school.

All schools are supported to be as inclusive as possible, with the needs of pupils with SEND being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.

What is the Local Offer?

From 2014 LAs and schools are required to publish and update information about services they expect to be available for the children and young people with SEND aged 0-25. Therefore the intention of the Local Offer is to improve choice and transparency for families. It will also be an important resource for parents in understanding the range of services and provision in the area.  Click on the link below to see what information is available to children with SEND and their parents/carers in Cheshire West.
