Group two try on the fire kit, by Mrs Swift

Date: 7th Jan 2019 @ 8:34am

The children are continuing to enjoy the visits to the fire station.  We looked at different modes of transport and how to stay safe whilst using them. They got to try on the full fire kit and then were timed putting it back on.  They were almost as quick as the real fire crew.

Date: 8th Oct 2018 @ 3:58pm

The children had their last visit to the Fire Station today.  They learnt how to role a hose out and role it back up again.  They then had a race in teams to see who could role out the hose, connect to the water supply and spray the water first.  All this in full fire kit!  They also did some more classroom based work on keeping themselves safe aroud fire and electricity.  Next week a new group of 10 children will attend.

Fire Station Visit, by Mrs Swift

Date: 17th Sep 2018 @ 4:14pm

Year 6 have got the exciting opportunity of being part of a Fire Service programme.  They will go in small groups for 4/5 weeks to take part in activities that will help to educate them on keeping safe.  Today we got a tour of the fire station and were shown all the different equipment on a fire engine,  The children were even lucky enough to sit in the drivers seat!  We played some games and started to look at rules and why we have them.
